Humane Rigging: Introduction, video 01
Why Blender Stack Exchange recommends it
Blender Stack Exchange answerers point people to it when someone is struggling with armatures, weight painting or deformation and needs a free, thorough grounding in rigging.
Recommended by 4 people across 7 different months, 2016 to 2021.
What it is
A short introduction to Nathan Vegdahl's Humane Rigging DVD, released as a free CC BY 3.0 video series, with some talk about rigging philosophy. It is the first video in a longer Blender character rigging course published by the Blender Foundation.

I highly recommend viewing the tutorial series by Nathan Vegdahl, Humane Rigging [this video] . It will teach you everything you need to know about rigging and the tutorials are well done.

I suggest you to check the free CookieFlexRig, and the free advanced rig course by Nathan Vegdahl [this video] . With the flexrig infos you'll discover also how to link characters between files: essentially you model the character, build (or copy from flexi rig, or generate with the rigify addon) the rig, then create a group and save the file. In a new production file you can use the Link function (in the file menu of the info window) to import the group, then create a Proxy (object menu of the 3d window) of the rig and start to animate the proxy: every update made on the model file will update the production file also.

I don't know exactly what do you want your wheel to perform, but everything relates to the rig, which will be the parent of a wheel bone which will be the only resposible of the vertices to move. I suggest you the free Nathan Vegdahl course of advanced rigging, on You Tube [this video] It's focused on human rigging but it's full of insights.

Welcome! As I get you correctly, you won't need to care about modeling and you will get a complete model with texture, normal/ambient occlusion map and so forth. To check what task will still be up to you, you might check for common workflows: What is the workflow to create animation in Blender? [LINK] Unfortunately, it is quite a bit more than "just animating". Since I am also a beginner in Blender, I can't speak from much personal experience. Here I have put together some (free) tutorials that have helped me to make my first steps. (There are thousand of other really good tutorials out there on Youtube, just search for them! Also Blender.org, Udemy and other pages have good, but often paid

parenting or joining the backpack mesh to the mesh instead of the skeleton might be the right move for your need. When you parent the whole mesh to the skeleton it references all bones, you can also try parenting to a root bone. Joining the backpack mesh to the humanoid mesh will allow you to also make the correct deformations and parenting to the bones. I've found the humane rigging blender tutorial here [this video] I hope this helps. Also consider giving a try to the blender cloud there is a lot of useful examples and tutorials. store.blender.org/product/membership

I've tried opening the blend file but with no success. Based on the description of the problem you might have rigging problems. I've found the humane rigging blender tutorial here [this video] This will help you a lot on understanding the problem at hand. Also consider giving a try to the blender cloud there is a lot of useful examples and tutorials. [LINK]

Some of the issues: bad topology, triangles, intersecting geometry, wrong bone and vertex groups names, wrong proportions between rig and body. Requires more advanced work to repair than rebuild from scratch. I suggest you the Humane rigging free youtube course, from Nathan Vegdahl [this video]

To the corrective bone, but theese are basics, I think you should watch some basic tutorials to get in touch with rigging in general, like this, which is old but very good: [this video]
