What it is
A 2013 Minecraft tutorial by NimsTV that walks through building a compact iron golem farm with a built-in harvester and iron/poppy filter. It covers the base platform, door placement, a second platform, water and villagers, and the kill-collection filter, with time markers for each step.

I've built several variations of Iron Grinders based on classic design. Then I found Nims Tutorial on his ultra compact design. It's awesome - roughly 12x12 (Get your doors correct). I use it all the time. You can build it one block above the surface and drop the golems into your underground lair. There's no need to build the Redstone filter system really. But Hoppers to fill more double chests don't hurt. Just heed the warning, you cannot have anything but glass within 5 blocks in any direction of the chambers. Even 1 block, and you'll always find your golems spawning on it. If you have Residence protection, make sure that clearance exists. If someone builds in that 5 space air gap, you're

I've been working on an iron farm in a survival world. I'm on 1.12 Prerelease 5. I was following this tutorial: It seems to work in 1.12, because Mumbo Jumbo built the same design on the Hermitcraft server. It hasn't spawned any iron golems yet, and I have some doubts because this is the first iron farm I've built. I've looked over the wiki, and I want to make sure that I placed the doors correctly. Some of my friends are saying that there need to be transparent blocks above the doors. So, all in all, I just want confirmation that I'm building the doors correctly. Thanks for all your help! Is this something you can upload? Or a structure of it? I have built many iron farms, some very similar to yours. I would have thought yours would work just looking at the images. If you watch this video on Nims design [this video] , you will see the doors are setup almost exactly the same and this design does work on 1.12.2. You might feed the villagers to see if they become willing.

So I've been building this [this video] thing, to see how it works and if I can increase the efficiency some: Now, I tried to increase the number of floors, but it's hard to determine the effects of it. Some times it seems as though the whole thing is broke as well. I have one pouch of villagers on either side, dont't know if that affects anything though. So my questions to this design is: Is this thing considered as one, larger village? Or two separate ones? How far away (vertically) does the next layer need to be for it to be recognized as two separate villages? Here is the other one, which I have extended the length of: And my questions to this design is: Does increasing the space, doors and v

I tried to search this question, but it seems to be rather specific. The problem I have is the following: We have a small SMP server in Minecraft and I set up an iron golem farm according to (only redstone in the hopper sorter system) and an automatic wheat farm according to (minecart running beneath the farm and a redstone circuit for the unloading as well as a hopper sorting system). Both farms work very well as long as a player is online. Of course, they stop working after the somewhat 60s after the last player has logged out. So I went and read a bit about that topic and came up with the idea to send an item through a nether portal every 45s via a piston/hopper clock plus a dropper. This
