Large Scale Oceans in Blender with FOAM!
Why Blender Stack Exchange recommends it
Blender Stack Exchange users point people to it for fixing repetitive or distorted ocean modifier results and as the reference workflow many askers say they followed to build baked ocean scenes.

What it is
A 51-minute Blender tutorial by Dylan Neill on building large-scale ocean scenes with the Ocean modifier, including baked swell and detail layers, foam, an ocean shader and a camera animation. It is updated for Blender 2.93 and walks from initial setup through render settings and lighting.

You should not use Repeat to increase the size, it will create repetitions, maybe increase Spatial Size and Resolution as explained here : [LINK] ... If it doesn't work, check Dylan Neill's video here: [this video]

@GordonBrinkmann Watch this tutorial that I watched, so that you can get a better idea of what is causing this [this video]

I'm following this tutorial, and at the final stage ( [this video] ) I baked the ocean modifiers (including foam), and put the image sequences into shader for an object as such: [LINK] I'm trying to make a render of an animation with the ocean moving, but the tutorial assumes you know already, which I don't. How do you do this?

I've seen this tutorial by the link. It uses the same principle as the one I have followed: [this video] The problem I can see is that ocean simulation result and ocean depth object (the plane with shrinkwrap applied) are two different objects with different mesh density and they have mesh intersection which does not look right. I thought that in order to look right, this has to be a single object. Yes, I've tried to apply Solidify modifier too, but got some wild-looking mesh. I use Cycles.

I'm trying to render out some view layers to put into the compositor. Most of them rendered perfectly fine, however the one called 'ocean' renders gray nothing, despite the presence of lights and the fact that all of the relevant objects are visible in the render (if I turn on visibility for 'ocean swell' and 'oceandetail' those objects do end up visible in the resulting render but they're not the ones I actually WANT in the render . For reference I followed this tutorial [this video] to model the ocean but I did alter some of the settings for my own purposes). Also, weirdly, while it's going about its business rendering nothing, it still stops in the middle citing that it's out of GPU memory abo
