Blender Tutorial - Turn Any 2D Image to 3D Model - Quick & Easy
Why Blender Stack Exchange recommends it
Blender Stack Exchange users link it as the starting point for image-to-mesh projects, such as turning a logo or drawing into a 3D-printable shape, before asking follow-up questions about cleaning up the result.

What it is
A short Blender tutorial showing how to turn a flat 2D image into a 3D model. It adds a subdivided plane, applies the image as a texture to a Displace modifier, smooths the mesh, and then optimizes it with Unsubdivide. It is presented by the Reality Fakers channel and also promotes a paid Udemy course.

Hello I'm new to Blender, but I'm learning fast. I'm attempting to recreate this for 3D printing: It's a present for Christmas. I followed this youtube video tutorial: Turn Any 2D Image to 3D Model - Quick & Easy [this video] . I added a plane and applied an image as a texture to get the initial shape. Now I have a pretty good starting mesh: [LINK] I'm trying to remove the spaces that have been marked with edges to extrude the shape I'm going for. I've tried the solutions in this question: Boolean within the same object? [LINK] . I've tried a Geometry Node using Mesh Boolean and creating duplicate sub-objects and using the boolean modifier to subtract the space. The former ends with odd results a

First up, a suggestion for a better title, like Duarte mentioned: Fill geometry with faces, without overlapping holes, to recreate image in 3D To the question, it should be pretty simple to fill the vertices and edges with faces. But if you will do that on a regular basis however, I would strongly recommend searching for some add on to do that or follow this tutorial: [this video] Now explaining, it will just be a bit tedious, but tracing the vertices after the pixels of the image was probably too. When selecting two vertices and pressing F, you create an edge between those two points. Selecting three or more vertices creates a face inside that group. For your problem you will not want to select

[LINK] I want to make rounded edges to a disk like object created with this tutorial [this video] . The mesh was created using Alt + F . When I select the edges and bevel, only the top faces are being cut. What can I change in the mesh to be able to have rounded the edge using bevel?
