Clone and Project painting is working fine in Blender. Have some exploration of the Texturing tool slowly and you will eventually find this feature. When you are opening older Blend file, in the option box, uncheck the "Load UI" so that you will keep the newer Blender UI. Check tutorial like this one: [this video]

So you need to know the basics of UV unwrapping . UV unwrapping [LINK] You also need to know how to texture , You dont need to texture it , you can also use materials but it isnt the best idea if you arent using it only for rendering : [LINK] Also be sure to look at lots of references and watch how other people do it : [LINK] there is also Clone painting , Shown in this video [this video] And since you are beginner you might want to take a look at basic texturing : [LINK]

I would like to use the clone tool with texture paint, but as soon as I choose Texture Paint, the mesh is white, and I cannot paint on it. I created a new UV Map, after I project the image from view, the image of reference appears well on the mesh in Object Mode, but I get this white color in Texture Paint Mode. I followed this tutorial : [this video] but the version of Blender is not the same, so the settings are a bit different. I tried to play with the clone settings, the options in the shader menu : GLSL/Multitexture, but nothing changes. Would you know how to use this clone effect in Blender 2.72b ? EDIT #4: it is confusing, sorry. Here is a new example : the clone painting works. But when I

If I'm understanding correctly, it sounds like you are trying to remap your texture. You may find this helpful: [this video]

You may do it using the Transformers add on . It'll transform every flat textured plane into 3d model. [LINK] Activate it in User Preferences . Then go to a Tool Shelf and choose a desired transform option. [LINK] OKAY I'M KIDDING :), NOW SERIOUSLY: There's no such way to do it fast . If you manage to invent a tool that may do such thing automatically you'll be probably a millionaire :). While there's a very simple way to transform 3d model into 2D image (using e.g. shapekeys), reverse process is impossible (at least right now :)). As @Shubol3D said there are no shortcuts. You'll have to master a lot of skills to create your lion model. It's very time consuming process, so if you like to sav

Is this the tutorial you watched? I know it is an older version, but the tools are about the same function since nothing has changed in Texture Paint tools yet. [this video]

hope I can get some help here. Ive been spending days trying to work out this problem so now I'm reaching out. (Searched all over these forums and youtube tutorials but nothings working) Can anybody take a look at my blender file please? I made a swan, and I made the feathers in blender internal system, so I need to uv project in the same system because when I switch to cycles, it doesn't render the feathers properly. So I've tried following these tutorials to be able to clone/texture paint the beak but its not happening for me. I just want the beak, so I haven't been bothered about making sure the rest of the body is projected properly. [this video] (v old tutorial) / [LINK] . Im using blender 2
