What it is

A short Blender tutorial from Blender Made Easy showing how to render Mantaflow fire with a transparent background. It uses a compositor node setup that masks out the fire and feeds it back in as the alpha channel.

Realized that because I was using transparent background, the fire was being masked out. Checking the alpha channel made me realize that fire was being masked. This tutorial helped me out: [this video]

Thanks for the feedback. This helped me understand the logic behind the resulting exports. I also found a video that provides a compositing node tree that solves this problem: [this video] Just make sure to set the "Set Alpha" node to "Replace Alpha" instead of the default "Apply Mask".

In case anyone is still looking for a solution, this video here has a compositing node tree that will fix this problem: [this video] Just make sure to set the *Set Alpha* node to *Replace Alpha* instead of the default *Apply Mask*.
